This is why ATP Training, Inc is pleased to announce a "six (6) hour function specific course" dedicated entirely to "Shipping Lithium Batteries by Air" to help our valued business partners better understanf the new regulation changes as it concerns "Lithium Batteries" for 2010 as the regulations currently exist as of today.

Many of our business partners do work with Dangerous Goods in Transportation and realize the importance of a "clear" understanding of transporting dangerous goods in compliance with D.o.T. Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49 (CFR-49) and IATA rules and regulations.  It is with this in mind that we are offering this course.  The more you know about Shipping Lithium Batteries by Air, the safer our transportation cycle will be.  This will also help you assist your customers to better understand the intricacies of shipping lithium batteries by air.

In this seminar we will study:
  • The specific dangers presented by lithium batteries in air transportation
  • Documentation requirements, marks, and labels
  • Real life transportation incidents involving lithium batteries
  • FAA requirements for passengers who carry lithium battery powered electronics such as laptops and cell phones
  • The possible penalties for acts of non-compliance
  • The various types of batteries-lithium ion v. lithium metal; primary v. secondary
  • The additional US DoT restrictions for certain types of batteries in air transportation (USG-02 of IATA DGR)

Training provided meets the requirements of the US DoT for function specific training as stated in Subpart H to Part 172 of CFR 49 for lithium batteries in air transportation.  The testing provided will be through classroom exercises with no final exam.  All students successfully completing the course will receive a Certificate of Completion.
