24 HR HAZWOPER Training
29 CFR 1910.120, Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Training For: Occasional Site Workers performing specific tasks (e.g. Ground Monitoring, Waste Removal, Land/Geophysical surveying). Part of OSHA Industry Standards.
Details: The Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) standard is Part 120 of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) General Industry standards published at 29 CFR 1910.
The 24 hour program is for workers on site only occasionally for a specific limited task (such as ground water monitoring, land or geophysical surveying, waste removal, etc.) and who are unlikely to be exposed over permissible exposure limits and published exposure limits must receive a minimum of 24 hours of instruction off the site and the minimum of one day actual field experience under the direct supervision of a trained, experienced supervisor.
All training must be completed before employees are permitted to engage in hazardous waste operations.
An annual, 8-hour refresher is required.
